I am just glad there is someone on this earth I personally know as Hank. He is a rare resource and should always be thought of, when you first wake up you should think hank. Before u go to bed orclose your eyes you should be thinking: hank. Just hank. Thank hank when things go right in your life. Its that simple. Its hank or its just not hank. Okay I hope I've cleared up any questions you may have about indispensable and unique Hank. Get one today. Results may vary. Offer not valid where hank is not available.

I am overwhelmed and amazed at the number of Hanks that are out there in the USA alone, especially Hank Beasley's.
Word of Wisdom: If you are named Hank, be proud of your name, there are plenty of Famous HANKs out there too, and you need to strive to be just as well-known and famous too, keep your head held high, your chin up and make sure you try laughing every day, and MOST OF ALL SMILE as big as you can, it makes people wonder just what you have been up too!.........HANK BEASLEY, VIDALIA GA

Hanksters....forgive me for being so careless. I'm in a car traveling at about 40 mph in Hawaii...vacation time....and I made a couple of
mis-hits on my keyboard.

I'm hoping that the Chief Hank doesn't demote me to a non-Hank status after the typos. Hawaii is great but laptop keyboards and my somewhat fat fingers are not compatible on bumpy roads.

For 57 years I have been known as HANK. My mom once told me that a 'hank' is a in a handful of rope or a handful of a horse's mane. I don't know if that's true, but she said the nickname HANK as a my personality and attitude perfectly---a HAND FULL. For years I used an email address based on another nickname some of my former employees once gave me: Easy Henry. Kind of had to do with the energy and intensity I have for life. A bit of a sarcastic comment on their part about the competitive nature and zeal I have for setting objectives and then finding the soutions. EasyHenry... Sure. I guess after having the name HANK all these years [actually Henry Fisher is the legal name] it's probably not surprising that among the things i do professionally [and have for 25 years] is create names for companies and products. I coin new names / words as often as often as my projects fit that situation. I want my clients to have unique 'BRAND' creating new words is one of the best steps in the complicated process of developing, nurturing, reinforcing and marketing a brand----based on sound strategies. Anyway, for those HANK's out there....or wannabee Hanks....check out my company site [for Transum, LLC] at .
And always remember that being HANK carries a lot of responsibilities that other names simply don't. This is my first visit to Hankdom [not Hank least not on Mondays]. I hope that the Hank site brings me as much joy as it apparently brings all of you. By the way: those who know me really well refer to my unique way of approaching things as : Hankery.

I'm not a Hank but my father is a Henry, aka Hank, aka Hank the Crank for his famous hook in bowling.

Last year his doberman died, so we went to the SPCA and got him a Labradore Retriever. Hank was in the hospital, but when he got home he was greeted by the new dog.

"Big Hank, meet Little Hank."

Yup, the dog's name is Little Hank, aka Small Henry.

My father was also known as Hendry. He was called that by his childhood friend Danny Escobito, who later became part of the case law that created the Miranda Rights.

I am a writer, producer, and director. Right now, I am trying to

any of you Hanks out there know of anything or anyone that
might be of help, please feel free to send it my way.

handle which came about by accident from a frustrating attempt
to come up with a unique Hank address. As you can see there

I am Henry Fletcher Pierce V, the fifth of five Henry Fletcher Pierce's and I have just begun to dig into my Pierce geneology. Henry the IV, my father, married Mary Lynn (Crow) and they have two children, myself and my sister Michelle Loraine (Pierce) Cario. Henry the III, my grandfather married Loraine (Campbell) and they had three children, my father and two aunts - Mary Beth (Pierce) Sayer, and Patty (Pierce) Sellers. Henry the II had a sister named Florence that may or may not have survived. He was a lawyer in Washington. Henry the 1st - very little is known beyond this but family oral traditions speak of connections to the president Franklin Pierce and two signers of the Declaration of Independence - Benjamin Franklin and Benjamin Rush of Pennsylvania. If any Hank's out there know anything of this line please send me an e-mail. Thanks and hello again Hanks of the world!

Late night. Couldn't get to sleep. Worked on a name development project for a client. That's what I do. Create corporate identity solutions. Latest solution got approval from the trademark attorney this afternoon. Good news. Usually I coin names; creating one of a kind solutions that enable clients to get federal trademarking with the greatest possible likelihood of success. Strange thing to do for a living. I realize that. I used to be general manager of a meat packing company during the mid-70s and early-80s. After that, while writing several unpublished novels and children's stories, I ran a hot dog cart in Denver in 1975. It's always a toss up whether making up names for living is any less or any more strange than meat packing or selling hot dogs in the North Cherry Creek shopping area to high-end customers. By the way, I do not eat red meat; haven't for 15 years. Not a moral decision; my body doesn't do well trying to digest beef. As most of you know, being a Hank permits you to do, say and write almost anything and to do it with lots of confidence and a big smile. Hankyou!

I used to be somewhat ashamed of the name Hank, I mean it sounds SO hillbillyish. Still it had Henry beat all to hell! That was in my younger, unenlightened rock & roll days. Then I turned to country music until it got so overproduced it made me sick. Then I quit listening to everything but oldies music. Now I've come full circle and love old country and traditional. I play the harp & guitar, neither very well, but sometimes even a blind hog will find an acorn. If it wasn't for Catfish Jeff and Dr. Trey, the slideman, I wouldn't have a hope. However, they can hold a song together while I diddle around. Have been known in the past as Hanky-poo, Hanky-panky, On-re, and Stank(probably fits!). Now I go by Hammer among a few friends and co-workers.
I'm amazed by this site...I didn't know there were Hanks in other places besides the south, and we're really rare here, too.

I am just wondering what Hank Jr is doing presently and where his career is going?
I've lost a few years since incurring a traumatic brain inury in 95.
I did see him in Minot at the ND state fair in 1989, followed his career for a while and was injured in 95 with more important things to concentrate on like re learning life from infancy.
I did just land a job as my pysicians said I would never again do.
Thanks. Larry

My Dad was a career officer in the Royal Air Force(England) from 1936--1962. I always knew him as Hank Beasley, however I kept seeing letters arrive from
Australia (from his mother) which kept rferring to Charles....My mother cleared up the confusion by tellling me that (a) my Dads birth m=name was Charles, however he was poested to the states as a flying insructore 1940-1941 and as he was 6'3" they called him Hank. He survived WW11 even being shot down in his spitfire ( he was a fighter pilot) over the english channel. However life is irionic, and he succumbed to a heart attack at the early age of 50 in 1971.

Greetings My Brothers and Sisters,
Hank is, indeed, a great name. I don't think I've ever properly thanked my parents for bestowing it upon me--a situation I shall seek to remedy soon.

The only downside of being a Hank is, technically, I'm a Henry (not a bad name, either). This often causes mind-numbing confusion on the part of knuckehead bank tellers and bureaucrats who cannot fathom that someone named Hank and Henry could possibly be the same person. It happens more than most non-Hanks can imagine.

The only wisdom I can offer you, my fellow Hanks, is a premise I've arrived at over the years; everything takes longer than you think it will. Not terribly deep, but essentially true.

Hi: I am a Hank. I renamed myself in adulthood, after hating my name Henry as a child. It changed my life. I became enpowered. I use Henry now only as a professional name and like it much better now. I had a married lady friend who used the french vers ion (enri, pronounced onree) with a deep purr in her voice. I loved it when she spoke to me.
I have a web site, please visit it.

I happen to be a 3rd Generation Hank and am proud of it. My children are not named Hank because 2 of them are girls and the other is my step-son who came with his own name intact. He elected to keep it. Here is a tip for all you Hanks out there. If you consistently go by Hank and get phone calls and letters for someone named Henry, they are usually bill collectors or people who don't know you very well! That little thing in the top lefthand corner of your keyboard also works well when you want to sign your name with a flair.

I am a Hank ... it is part of my identity and uniqueness. I am more fortunate than most:

My dad was a Hank and my mom's nickname was Hank long before she met my dad. I have a brother-in-law that is a Hank and used to work with two other Hanks at my last job. I have a friend now who is Henk and that is close enough.

Its truly a cowboy name (head em off at the pass hank) but you grow to love it.

There has never been a mass murderer named Hank or even son of Hank. A Hank has never carved a swasitka into his forehead, led a cult, or tryed to assassinate anyone.

If you are a Hank you are blessed. Learn to appreciate it and get on with your life.

And if you ruin it for the rest of us? We will find you and beat the crap out of you. Thanks.

Hank Mobley was one of the most underrated jazz saxophonists of the post bebop era. Some of his tunes; Hankerin', Hank's Pranks are (should be) considered classics.
I too am a good saxophonist. Other Hank's I know of are Hank Crawford and Hank Jones. The latter is a great pianist of the famous Jones brothers including Elvin and Thad.
Hank Drake is a good drummer, but he has changed his name to Hamid. I still think he is Hank. I am from Chicago and I hope anyone who knows me and sees this will contact me. They should know that I remain Hank.

My legal name is Vernon Ellis after both of my grandfathers.
However, my father called me Hank from the time I
was born and it stuck. Growing up I never realized that
Vernon Ellis had anything to do with me. So I grew up
thinking that my name was really Hank, and not just a
nickname. Most people that know me say they can't
imagine me as a Vernon or an Ellis. So I still go by Hank

Being a Hank is probably not unlike being a Jack, though I'm
not entirely sure about this. Do you get Hanked around? Do
you still feel the need to Hank off now and again, just to
get through this life? Do you Hank up your car with a scissors
Hank, or do you feel safer using a hydraulic Hank? Do you
need Hanks or better to open?
When I was a kid, I used to play this game called "Hanks,"
but it didn't work very well because all the marbles were
hanktehedrons, so they didn't roll too well. Hankstraws was
always considered a far superior game...

I wanted to submit something really clever so I thought it would be neat to look up Hank in one of those baby naming books that give the meaning and origin of names but all my baby books are in the garage 'cause my daughter is three years old and we had to make room for her "Little Tikes" kitchen and electric piano and besides I'm in my bathrobe and don't want the neighbors to see me. I'm with you Hank, Hank is a good thing.

We need to stick together. Your page is a step in the right direction...
and a journey of a thousand miles begins with just one step! But we need
to focus on the journey ahead. I believe that one day this country...
nay... the entire world might be filled with men and women named Hank.
First names. Last names. Middle names. But Hank as a proper noun isn't
enough. No. Not even nearly enough. I have a vision of a world with
Hank as a verb.

Q: "So, what-da-ya wanna do after work?"
A: "What else? Let's go hank at Hank's house."

Admittedly, the idea is not fully developed. But all great movements
begin with but one idea. That's right! I wrote "movement." And the
great Hank Movement is exactly what I have in mind.

But enough of this drivel. Talk is nothing compared to action... and I
have things to do.

people out there who would like a Plank for what he is but
not what he is supposed to be.

Thank you all!

hello,ciao all....
my real name isn't's Hoang, well the story started about when
i was 5 and when i grew to the age of 12 i got upset b/c
my collegues kept on calling me by my vietnamese name and
they can't even pronounce this simple name.
I don't blame them b/c i know their not as perfect as i am.
Well by now you can guess why i've changed my name to Hank.
That was not the only reason, well i actually heard of that
name when i studied on Hank Aaron the famous baseballer.

i thank the person who started the Hank Page...oredy

Marian !!!!

Ray and I are in Wisconsin. Didn't see any references to
me in your bio. You pig.

This is the first time Ray has explored the web. It's fun!

Hope that Imagescape is doing well.

By the way -- we found you through WXRT. Bon voyage!

Dear Ms. Hank:

Like yourself, I am also a Hank--Hank Lewis more specifically. My middle
name is Henry--my first name is one of those snotty sounding southern gentry
names that nobody ever gets right! When I was at softball camp, one of my
buddies said that I hit the ball like Hank Aaron because I hit it so well.
When I told him my middle name was Henry, he said, "Well then, you are now
Hammerin' Hank!" The name stuck that summer and when I came home, it took
folks in my household and at school to adjust to the name change--I ignored
anyone who didn't call me "Hank." Although I don't like Country music (but
then again, there is no disputing taste), I think Hank is a strong sounding
name that is used by all men and women, whether first or last names that have
good minds, strong opinions and are survivors who overcome. I like the
website and will check it out often.

We've been searching for the Alchemist's Stone for so many years, Marian. Now at last it is at hand: for $5000 you can get David Shepherd to come to your campus and provide 3 days of entertainment. This is the end of my message.
